    mopar mega block

I don't use side seals in th erear main seal retainer at all. Ultra Grey only. Off set the seal slightly. Also drill the retainer mounting holes 1/64" oversize o allow the retainer to center itself on the seal. I've reused the same seal in my race motor on the last 2 freshen ups. Still zero...

    Coolant in oil, fresh build

Pull the plugs. If one is much cleaner than the others you have found the clylinder that is suspect. If they all look the same? Air up each cylinder with the valves closed. This requires either getting the tested cylinder directly at TDC or BDC. Easier yet since you know it has to come apart...

    Fuel problem or ignition problem

I'd start by checking for spark when it doesn't start. Easiest test there is. Doug

Well I didn't suck on Sunday. But what a trip

The disc failed. Pulled it all apart. Resurfaced the flywheel. Went to install the clutch yesterday. The supplied pilot bearing was wrong. Bought one locally. The pressure plate bolts reached torque before contacting the flywheel. After removing the pressure plate and a close inspection the...

    Throttle Adjustment Help

Tonys video explains it all very clearly. The cable type does not change the geometry. It's pivot to pin location. The aftermarket cables are nice do to extra length. You can get quite creative by just making a simple bracket to hold the cable. Notice th elack of bell cranks and ugly mounts in...

    1963 - 1964 Sheetmetal Interchange

My dad was on the B body styling team during 63-64. They made deal with engineering to change the cowl, windshield, and roof. The stipulation? The fenders, hood and doors had to fit the 63 outer cowl shape. This was so the firewall, inner fender, A pillar, B pillar parts could remain. Doug

    Pinion nut torque

Once you get used to the feel of rotational torque you can sneak up on it with the impact gun. Tighten a bit, rotate for feel, tighten check and so on. Did many like this in my dealership days. Got to the point where nothing was measured. All by feel. Doug

    Transmission help!

If only the lock up solonoid was stuck it would only cause the engine to stall at stops. It wouldn't have hurt anything else. I'm assuming this is an A998 trans (basically a lock up 904). This trans is more than strong enough for your combo. What doesn't function now? I can fix it if it's broke...
