Yes , in the secondary circuit
After verifying fuel pressure like mentioned , fuel flow to the carb , throttle linkage , throttle plates fully opening
Verifying the .104 secondary jets , going to .107 with no change
Removed the secondary jets again , tried carb clean thru the passages with...
Edelbrock Quality Control
Post 72 primary circuit
My post about the secondary circuit on another
Another thread under "tuning" about the idle circuit on these new AVS2 s , carb got returned
Anyways your not going to fix casting flaws or blocked passages on a brand new carb
Other then...
Working on a AVS2 800 for a friend (Been running one myself for about four years now) who has been having RPM issues on the top along with pinging/detonation - Verified fuel pressure at 5,000 RPM at 4.5 psi when issues start by taping a gauge to the windshield - Verified fuel flow , throttle...
Every time you replace a Ballast Resistor , you are removing wiring connectors , reconnecting , moving cleaning connections
I have seen more bad connectors , resistance in the wiring , then actually bad Resistors or ECUs
Start at the bulkhead connector with your meter , then move to the...
Anyone ever flow test one , with these huge annular boosters hanging up front
Dyno test numbers say on a 500-600 HP Stroker Big Block with this 800 AVS2 compared to say a Thunder AVS 800 or a comparable Holley
Just curious if anyone has actually tuned one and what they learned versus...
Took Friday off to work around the house
You know what makes great weather in WI ?
Mostly Sunny - High 60s Low 70s
No Humidity
NO MOSQUITOES
Work outside till the sun disappears
AWESOME
Having problems with new MSD plug-n-play distributor and blaster 2 tube coil kit from Jegs. Installed into70 Bee with previous electronic ignition?
Almost an identical thread with no resolution or answer
This thread he did say he was buying a multi meter
Hopefully we get some feedback
Thanx for the reminder - Seasoning the Rib Eyes for later today
Beautiful day in WI
There is another thread that just got updated with new ignition coils that failed out of the box
90% of these threads always come back to bulkhead connections , proper volt readings at the coil , proper volt...
The very reason I asked for volt meter readings and testing
I wanted to eliminate the easy stuff first
Hence the O P only owns a test light
Start with Volt Readings and ground
Remember it’s a RTR MSD
Then we can move to coils if that all pans out
Then the RTR Distributor itself
Cap Rotor...
Yes
But that RTR Distributor requires 100%
12-14 Volts to fire off that module
Hence the quick test or tests
And every mechanic should own a Volt Meter
Correct Bob or is that to much of a fuss
I would of wired things differently in regards to eliminating the ballast resistor and full 12 V
Quick test
Run a jumper wire from positive side ignition coil to positive side battery and see if it starts quick when cranking over - Leave other wires hooked up to ignition coil
Let us know...
