funny thing happened on the way home from cruise night

3/16" is smaller than 1/4". Did you mean 5/16" ?

Disaster - Major Fuel Tank Issue

I used to have three nipples but thanks to Kaiser, I'm back to only two. Back on point though... Both my cars have CA emission tubes in the trunk. I'm going to pull both and just make a cover for the hole. Dead weight....

Disaster - Major Fuel Tank Issue

My '70 Charger has 4 lines from the tank to some galvanized tube behind the RR tire.... Then a vent line goes forward to the engine bay. It has been so long, I don't recall what it used to have up front. I ended up repurposing the vent line to serve as a return line for the fuel regulator.

funny thing happened on the way home from cruise night

Popping up through the carburetor...? This will suck if I'm right. That could be a failing cam or lifters. When an exhaust lobe is failing, the exhaust has less of a clear path out so it finds a way somewhere. I've had this happen. When cruising, cylinder pressure is lower so the lower lift on a...

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

I did get a couple cans of this today. I might get a third and one of those plastic buckets listed above.

The end of the description "Senior Friendly" is something we all may need at some point! That is worth considering. Thank you, Sam.

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

I see that 96 ounce jugs are commonly available but how the heck is a carburetor main body going to fit in a container smaller than a 1 gallon can? I know that I don't need a full 5 gallons but I don't see an in between option.

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

I forgot to ask.... What about the solvent to soak carburetors in? Years ago, you'd buy one of those 5 gallon cans of that Berryman brand "Carb-Dip" or something like it. I had a can but once when I ran the weed eater, a small piece of gravel got smacked by the trimmer line and it punched a...

Fuel sending unit ground? Spade connection

I found the booklet that came with that multimeter. Using it is easy when you're trained in that sort of stuff. I dare a plumber to immediately know how to use a construction calculator to establish rafter lengths, concrete volume or other stuff that trained Carpenters have to know.

Uhhh, others were right, you were wrong yet you are compelled to insult me? Really ?

    Failed Smog !

Looks like YOU didn't read the sheet.... CO% at 15 mph had a max of 1.21 with 2.17 recorded. CO% at 25 mph had a max of 1.01 with 2.02 measured. NOX was well below the limits. It is one thing to be wrong. It is another to insult others when YOU are the one that is wrong.

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

One carburetor I had on the Duster developed a blocked internal passage for the accelerator pump. The ethanol here is okay if you run the engine on a regular basis but fuel sitting inside awhile seems to lead to crud buildup. How do you adequately clean a small passage? Nobody makes "pipe...

    Rebuilding carburetors at home

It has been awhile since I did a full rebuild on a carburetor. I’ve changed jets, power valves, metering blocks, accelerometer pump cams and such but it has been years since I did a full tear down. I have these cars out back: They both have mild 360s with the most basic of all Holley...

    Removing Fuel Pump on GTX

Sorry, I was not referring to you. I was commenting about the guy that thought the pushrod could fall out when you pull the pump. It is immediately evident once you pull the pump that it cannot come out on it's own.
