Driving 71 roadrunner clone 400 miles

Yes I'm going to do that soon. I am going to be removing that fuel cell and reinstalling the factory tank today. I can't find the ground wire to the gas gauge so I need to find a new one as I don't feel comfortable driving 500 miles without a working gas gauge.

Ground strap. There never was a ground wire.

Agree, no ground strap. The sender was grounded with a clip that went from the pickup to the main fuel line. There should be a blue wire that goes through a grommet in the trunk that plugs directly onto the sending unit.
