1969 Superbee 383 ?

I bought this 383 from a guy who said it’s from a 69 Superbee, which was parked on his property. Just a rusty roller, no title, don’t know if it is matching.
Based on the numbers and Vin from the block what can you tell me about it.
Pistons are 2863114’s. Crank looks recently balanced, is it forged?

A Superbee or Roadrunner would be "WM" or "RM" respectively as they were a "M" Medium price class.

Crankshaft is forged, but only factory balanced. Mopar numbers is a good sign that it is a Std. bore.

The RP VIN indicates it came out of a Sport Satellite.

The VIN letter H only tells us the car had a 383-4bbl. It does not tell us which version or the horsepower rating.

As the letters HP are not stamped not the pad. That tells us the car was rated at 330 horse power indicating the assembly was designed to sit in front of an automatic transmission and/or it had air conditioning.

I have a 70 RR that originally was a 383 4 speed car. The 440 in it needs some work so I will be running this 383 for the meantime.

In '68 & '69, in the 5th digit for the engine, a "G" was for a regular 383 4bbl (330HP IIRC) and a "H" was for the 383 4bbl "Magnum" engine at 335HP, thus also the HP on the pad.

All 383-4 bbls regardless if they are in A,B, C bodies and regardless whether they are 330 or 335 horse versions code H in the VIN and 62/63 in the sales code. This is easily documented by broadcast sheets, Lynch Road fender tags and factory documents.

I can agree with that. After I posted, I was trying to remember the code for the 2bbl 383's, and figured it was the "G". The "H" code dictates 383 4bbl 330hp as you, and the "HP" should indicate the 335hp version. I took all of my books home, and was trying to go from memory which, in and itself can be a scary thing...
