    With a coil mounted sideways, if it's oil filled it can leak out over time.

    I've had my autometer afr gauge hooked up for 3 to 4 years. And now when I turn the key it won't show the display. Could the gauge itself be bad? I've confirmed everything is wired correctly and the connections are clean.

    Yes, there's a brake light switch under the dash. You'll see the plunger against the brake pedal arm. It could be out of adjustment.

    Yes. Make sure the converter is either internally balanced or you'll need the correct flex plate.
