I believe sunoco 110 race gas has 2x the lead then 100LL. Higher octane race gas 3x the lead.
Its been many years but we switched from race gas and av gas with no discernable difference racing. That was with 13.4:1 on a mid 10 sec car. . We also mixed 100LL with pump gas on lower compression...
I admit I never have been a Dale Sr. fan. RIP. I did not know he started out in a mopar or DC had him testing.
The first Nascar races I watched Petty and his 74 charger. I was a big fan..the car was cool and he dominated.. I remember how exciting it was!
Deck height on a 440 10.725, 400 9.98. Difference of .745" blueprinted.
When I measured with a tape the 440 is slightly less then 3/4" wider to where the exh bolt on.
My brother and I are building a car for my Dad and he broke his hip 2 months ago. We were wondering if the 4 speed planned should switch to a automatic.. It is a 62 409 impala. It also has manual brakes and steering.
I told him it will be like physical therapy. The dual quads are for neck...
Very neat you got it home after all these years.
I have always enjoyed the 71-72 era cars.
That one is a survivor for sure!
IMHO..I would be glad a 4 barrel was added!
As far as pistons summit racing came out with a forged piston with valve reliefs and metric rings, Icon also offers forged 1/16 rings, KB has hypers with flat top or domes. Diamond also offers pistons if you what a premium piston. With small cams you can run a piston with no valve reliefs like...
They did make a M1 single plane with max wedge ports and one that only fits on the rb stage VI head with raised ports. Also made intakes for B engines. Some fit 4150, some fit 4500 carbs.
M1 covers a lot of applications..
Look for part numbers!
Enjoyed the story Ed
I have been around cars where the air was incredible and ran better then they ever had before. Often, not ever replicated. Many of those times it was in the middle of the night!
That was seriously buzzing w 3.91s!
I would try finding a 46rh at a salvage yard. Transmissions that have been completely burned up aren't much fun to rebuild anyway.
I rebuilt the 68rfe behind my diesel..sure was a lot going on inside that thing. I was very thankful it worked!
I can't remember the last time I have seen a dayton!
After I restored mine.. we lived in the suburbs for a couple years and used the cub cadet 100 to mow. It had a 10hp Kohler and not much of a muffler.. I bet the neighbors were glad we moved.
I have been around cub cadets most my life. About 15 years ago I restored my cub cadet 100 that was given to me as a kid..it is a 1965. I got it in the late 70s.
Funny thing mentioning all the plastic on these new mowers..I loaned my 100 to someone and he didn't tie it down in his pickup. He...
Did some shopping on our nos kit...200hp kit bought it used for 400...basically new and came with a full bottle!
Also did a turbo on a mild 318 in the 90s. It was perhaps 450-500hp and even more torque...I remember flooring it at 20mph and smoking the tires. That was with 6 people in the car and...
