Good morning:
The baseplate to the air cleaner for my 1971 Charger with Ramcharger (air grabber/440) hood needs a new paint job. It is black obviously, but I cannot tell if it is semi-gloss, satin, or flat black, or something else. Anyone have any suggestions/insights as to what precise color...
Looking for the decal that goes on the 1971 Charger for the hideaways in the engine compartment. The decal most vendors sell has a white background with green lettering and green border. I understand that is correct for 1972. But in 1971, it was black lettering and black border. Anyone now where...
Good morning:
Still searching for 18-spline 4 speed 1971 transmission; last four digits stamped on unit "1760." Last seen in the Pacific Northwest.
Thanks!
I replaced my lightweight aluminum aftermarket radiator yesterday with a factory reproduction 959 26" on my 1971 440. All went smoothly. However, at engine startup there was a slight sound indicating the fan was hitting the shroud. On inspection, the space between the fan at the top and the...
Can someone remind me what the backward letter "R" stands for on VIN fender tag number 2? This is a 72 Charger Rallye. There is nothing else on the second tag. Thanks.
Good afternoon:
What is the proper orientation for the door jamb VIN decal for a 1971 Charger? I have seen them both vertical and horizontal in the door jamb. If it makes any difference, mine was from St. Louis.
Thanks!
Does anyone have any photos they can share of the correct style factory valve covers for a 1971 Charger RT 440? Something that shows different angles and any built-on attachments such as plug wire guides, if applicable, for the right and left side? Thank you!
Excellent chrome front bumper for late model 1971 (with slots) or all 1972 Doge Chargers. This is not a core. It is near perfect. And it includes the center emblem which is also in great condition. No need to do anything to this bumper--just bolt it on and it looks fantastic. See photos. $375...
I have a rear bumper for a 1971 (late model with slots) or 1972 Charger for sale. See photos. It is in excellent condition. Chrome is pristine. Does not need anything other than to bolt it on. These bumpers new are $600+. you can have this one for $375, plus shipping. I will be at the Van Nuys...
I have a brand new, Classic Industries-purchased, big block radiator New in the Box for sale. The part number is MD2290S. See photos. I invite you to look it up at Classics to confirm application. It is for a 26" inch big block. Retail is $700. I bought it in early 2023 and have decided to go a...
I have a tear in the back seat on my 1971 Charger. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. Any suggestions on how to repair to stop the damage? Sew it up with special thread? Patch it up somehow?
I appreciate your input!
Good morning: I am replacing my front bumper on a 71 Charger. Looks like a few of the attachment points for the bumper are so far to the right or left that I might have to remove the fender to access them? That does not seem right to me. I am probably missing something here. Can anyone who has...
Where on the radiator support would one find the VIN stamp? Is it on the top? Or one of the vertical front or back sides? Anyone have a nice photo of theirs for a 1971 B-body that they can share? I am having a tough time locating mine and wonder if the radiator support was changed after an...
Looking for the case or complete. Last seen in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle area?) in the early 1990s. Out of a 1971 Charger RT. A833 4 speed. Thanks!
I have the original build sheet and the dash vin tag for my 1971 Charger. The fender tag was discarded long ago. I want to replace it. Who does that kind of work these days?
Thanks.
Good morning all: The following 3 photos are the right side valve cover on my 1971 440 RT. Does this valve cover look correct to you for 1971? I am wondering about the tabs (which appear to be for plug wires) at the rear on top of the cover, and on the side of the cover near the intake manifold...
Thanks for all the valve cover responses yesterday re gaskets. Here is a related question: My valve covers use a bolt to secure them to the head. I believe the factor had studs coming out of the head (1/4") to accept the gasket and valve cover nut. Anyone know the length of the stud?
Thanks!
