I bought one from Auto City Classic off eBay and it’s been perfect. Went right in no issues. Didn’t realize how poorly my old one was working until I dropped that thing in.
Mine’s a daily driver when there’s no salt on the ground. Constantly getting pelted by crap so I did it the cheap easy repeatable way haha. just took a little brush and a little can of matte black paint and spent 30 minutes painting in between each rib. Looks great unless you put your forehead...
67 charger. Anyone know off the top of your head what size the bolts are that mount the divider in place? Or better yet, what they’re called for me to search the internet.
Thanks for any help!
Thanks guys! That settles my hesitation to scrap them then. I'll try and clean them up and see if there's any interest on the for sale forum. I have the chrome trim pieces for the dash too, just took them off to see what was under them
I have a front end and dash off of one of our cars. They are not in amazing shape but I'm trying to gauge if they're worth keeping/anybody could use them or if I should just scrap them. I feel like they're probably not too easy to find should they be needed, but I'm also not familiar with metal...
Well if I can infer anything from the photos given- there’s no way to do it without making it look unnatural (raised up). I would only do it if the appearance of the car wouldn’t be altered too much. That orange charger isn’t TOO bad but it still looks like a hot wheels car or something.
Whelp...
I don’t know anything about anything. I’ve got mostly hand me down tools and I do all my work out of a 10x20 storage shed I can barely move around in. Anything I know about cars I’ve been slowly learning on my 67 and believe me I don’t know much. Just got done doing a lot of electrical work but...
Glad you got them out! I just used a magnetic screwdriver to get the bottom screws back in, I have flatheads holding mine in- not sure if that’s standard or just what I have haha
Does anyone currently have a horn button with the emblem for sale? Or a lead on one. I don’t see any recent posts, I found one on eBay but he wants $100 bucks for it- is that a fair price? I don’t care about correct for interior options or whatever. Mine is just a plain all black one that’s kind...
I removed the grill and the turn signals. The turn signals have screws at the top and bottom on the front of it, then there is a big screw underneath you have to get under the car to remove. Just remove them and the whole housing comes out pretty easy.
I was looking at the aftermarket columns you can buy but they’re really expensive and I’m worried I’d potentially be in over my head trying to install it. I’ll keep searching the internet for maybe one someone has already restored or that is complete and compare
Thanks guys!
Yeah I have the little metal plate but I thought the same when I saw other pictures-seems like I’m missing some stuff. I actually have another column that I bought a while back off a guy who was parting a car out and it doesn’t have the two bolts/nuts either. It is exactly the same...
