Ok, it's time for wheels and tires .. I was torn b/t 15x10 Steelies or 15x8.5 torque thrust wheels for the back and either 15x7 or 15x8 for the front. Question for the back. Who's running 275/60 on a 15x10 wheel ? Is there any tire bulge? ... problem is I want the width of a 295/50 but the height of a 275/60 but do not want to run a drag radial. If rather have the height of the 275 than the shorter 295/50 .. but I really want a 10" wheel ! So... with that being said, I'm leaning towards 15x10 Steelies with a 275/60 out back but would like to make sure they don't look silly ....

The charts I looked at suggest up to an 11" rim for 275/60 so I think your 10" rims would be fine. I had M/Ts with 12" section width and 10.5" tread width on 10" cop wheels and they looked great. Good luck,

I have had 275 -60R15 on 8.5, 9, 10 inch width rims. They looked great on any of them. I wouldn't try a 295 on anything less than a 10 inch rim though (you 'might' be able to squeeze it onto a 9 inch rim). I didn't think a 295-50R15 was much (if any) shorter than a 275-60R15. I have had both sizes before, but only have some 275 tires at the moment.

My street tires are BFG 325/50 Drag radials on 10" wheels. Seems like 275 on a 10" wheel would work OK. 8" would be good too.

If you want the width of the 295/50 and the height of a 275/60 and still have a radial tire, you might want to look at the Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R in a 28x12r15. That will get you a 28 inch tall tire (same as the 275/60), but will also get you the width, and actually about a 1/2 inch wider, than the 295/50. The only issue is it isn't offered in RWL, blackwall only, but it is a pure radial tire.

275-60-15's generally run 9" tread width and work well with 8" rims. 9" rims are perfect but the 10's also work well. Even though many will say 7's will work too, they are really a bit too narrow and you will have to pay attention to air pressures to keep from wearing the center of the tread....

I have 265 50 on a 7" wheel.

They look perfect.

Yours might look like the tire is under size.

I've been debating the same thing, I think I'm going to go with the 295's for the width. the 275's light up too easily. Also going to swap the rear end ratio from 4.56 to 2.76 so the smaller tyres for the 2.76's will help reduce some of the sluggishness of the new diff...

Too sluggish? I'm really debating the change, but 3600rpm doing 95kph (59mph) is killer...

The 2.76 sluggish ? Well it is what it is, was a great hwy gear, 85mph no problem. Making my 1st hwy drive with the 3.23 this weekend. I don't think it'll be terrible...

8" rim gives the caricature look that I prefer.

Same on mine atm, 275 on 8" 4" BS from memory. I'd like it to fill out the guard a bit more to be honest. Maybe 3.5" BS. I've gone 10"s for that reason & extra tread.

yup same rims at the front, but with 255's instead.

the 28" tyres look great for that tall rear period look. Just sucks that you can't get RWL in any wider than 275...

Yeah that's what I meant sorry. 28" RWL bigger than 275.

I run a 275/60-15 on a 10" wheel on my B van. the side wall and tread are flush with the rim, no bulge. I'll get a pic in the daylight tomorrow
