Hello

I have a 72 satellite sedan. I have obtained a complete 72 Charger 8.75 (brakes are there, but shot- would need completely rebuilt). The brakes on the 8.25 are new. I've been told that I can swap these brakes over complete onto the 8.75. Is that true?

Also someone told me that if I do that I'll have to get custom length axes, but that he may have been confused about A bodies and small bolt patter vs. big bolt pattern brakes.

Thanks for any help!

Steve

The entire backing plate swaps over. I did this when my 70 Charger had an 8 1/4" and I swapped in an 8 3/4". The bolt pattern for the backing plates were the same!

I don't think it's a direct swap. The 8.25" uses four studs and the 8.75 uses five. I'm pretty sure you will need to drill a fifth hole in the 8.25 plates, right between the second and third holes, to make them work on an 8.75". I would get a foam gasket for an 8.75" and use it as a template for locating the fifth hole.
