So i sent my car off for body work about two years ago and it was never finished, so i brought it home the other day and will be using a different shop. Originally I was going to opt for an all white charger, but now that i have it back i may change my mind. The car was originally B1 Powder blue, which is growing on me but i also like Light Gunmetal and B5 blue. Original color has no meaning as far as value goes, it was originally a no- option 318 car. The body work is all mostly stock 72 charger, flat hood and all. I had the marker lights shaved and am going with a painted fiberglass rear bumper painted body color. (keeping chrome up front.) For wheels i have a set of Grey Cragar SS wheels, and the interior is black. So what do you guys think i should go with? I like cool old school cars, nothing over the top.

I voted for the gunmetal. My 71 is painted powder blue ( or close to it ) but is originally a gunmetal color and that's what i'm going to paint it back to.

I checked off the gunmetal also. My cousin had a 73 Charger that color with a black vinyl top when we were kids. I always liked that color on his car.

Gunmetal, not only looks good but sounds cool too.

My choice is basically anything other than gunmetal grey, silver, etc. While a good shade for Cadillac or Mercedes, it's among the bland sea of non-colors on cars on the roads today that also includes black and white. I like my psychedelic days of colors... excuse me while I put back on my kaleidoscope glasses... got to get my fix of Top Banana, Go Mango, Sassy Grass, etc......

Can't beat Winchester Grey Metallic A4.

Well im starting to lean towards the light gunmetal . I think it looks a little blue-ish, which makes it more interesting to me than regular metallic gunmetal. But im not sure yet. I really dont want to go with the over-the-top colors on this particular car, while i love them, its more overstated than i want. Thanks for the votes so far guys!

My opinion? The A4 above looks better than the bluish gunmetal to me. Both are awesome, but I'd take Winchester Grey Metallic A4.

blue or white are my choices, they are timeless.if it was 10 years ago i would have gone gunmetal or grey, but today you are gunna be just another in a huge crowd with those colors.

2003 BMW charcoal grey. Color used on the hammer from fast and furious. Gorgeous color on that pro touring monster.

i have a buddy with a 72 rallye that is b5 blue it is very nice. but in the end the colour is a very personal and expensive choice! you have to make yourself happy.

I went with the Powder Blue. I know the Gunmetal is leading in the poll, but man...how many silver cars on the road today?

It's a 70's car..the color should reflect it...and we weren't mild...we were wild back in the day!

White -easy to repair, powder blue- ugly then ugly now but def ol school, b5- pretty but done. Out of those choices gotta be gunmetal with the wheel choice. With the gunmetal you will see the whole car and the body lines and shape will be accentuated. With alot of colors you see the color before you see the car shape resulting in a guady or cheap look. Something to consider is the middle 70s colors(75-78), they a derivitive of the early ones, lotsa metallic and not seen as often because they just aren't and they are true Mamopar colors. It's my hang up but putting a different make color on is a nono.. opinions can vary.

I'm not understanding the non-love for the silver / grey on the comments. I know a lot of modern cars are silver but right now a ton of them are black too and both are beautiful colors on these bodies. When I go to car show's I've never really seen that many A4 cars of any of the shades. I do however see a lot of the high impact colors and I love them too, but when old mopars get together I still think the A4s stand out because they look great and are still uncommon compared to the B5, Hemi Orange, Lime Light, Plum Crazy, etc cars.

The B1 Powder blue is cool looking and not common either though so I like you choice. this 72 challenger is purported to be B1

another one but with crazy stripes ... actually from this you can tell how good black stripes, hood patch, etc will look on it .. great site: http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcodedisplay.cgi?code=B1&manuf=Chrysler&rows=50

Sorry but here's another I think overlooked color outside of superbirds ... this time 72 Chargers from dodgecharger.com which are alledged to be B3 .. to give you and idea of black accents on a charger with light blue color
