I am leaving for Famoso tomorrow am for the Summit Series Race Sat/Sun Jun 3 and 4.
Will be the first outing with my new MAX WEDGE Heads (were STANDARD PORT up until now) that also have had some port work done on them. No flow bench but probably flow around 325 or so. Also now have a genuine INDY DOMINATOR MAX WEDGE SINGLE PLANE INTAKE MANIFOLD (it was an Edelbrock standard port 440 single plane intake manifold before with a 4150 to 4500 Dominator adapter).
Air will probably be around 3000' adjusted altitude because temp is forecasted be 99 to 102 degrees on Sat/Sun
.
My old combo (as stated above) would run between 10.60 and 10.65 at 124.5 to 125 mph at 3000' adj altitude. (this old setup ran 10.48 at 750' adjusted altitude)

My setup will be exactly the same this weekend as far as everything else goes except for the new heads and intake...so it will be an apples to apples comparison.

So....Hoping for low 10.40's which would be about a 2/10th lower ET with the new heads and intake....
I will report the results.

Good luck
lets do some calc.'s here {wild *** guesses}
35 {or so ?} more cfm should be good for about
35cfm x 2.2hp/per/cfm = 77hp should all things be tuned properly
I used a ballpark/guess of 290cfm {?} for your old heads combo...

I checked http://www.wallaceracing.com HP from ET MPH & Weight
http://www.wallaceracing.com/hpcalculatorquarter.php

it says, by the #'s I used {educated guess somewhat}
your old combo appr. 562hp @ the rear wheels/625 @ the crank
by your ET {642 {?} @ 3000 ft. corrected alt. vs sea level etc.}
your old combo appr. 524hp @ the rear wheels/583 @ the crank
by your MPH
{discrepancy by mph, maybe too much gear or too little/short tire, anyway (?)}

I did another calc. using 702hp {Crank ?}
I added 77hp for the new heads HP/flow + 625hp
from your old ET, MPH & Weight calc.

I got appr. 10.12 @ 130+
http://www.wallaceracing.com/hp-correction-et.php
If all your #s are even close in the calcs.'s
You maybe underestimating her ultimate potential
Good luck, she should run better...

BUD..THANKS...
I shoot for not much so I won't be dissapointed. I had already done your calcs...and got the same results...I use Wallace also.... (MY OLD STANDARD PORT DID FLOW ONLY 290).
I just can't believe it will go that fast...BUT anywhere under 10.40 would be just great...but remember, air is going to be 3000'.

10.35 128 mph @ 3000 ft DA that is my guess .

Hope it Flys

You were really close...
I was a tad more optimistic, but wasn't thinking about the 3000'/RAD
I think he'll get there to my predictions too, soon...
My time slips are now posted on a different thread named "New PB's today".
I saw that;
Congrats on the 10.36 @ 129+ certainly going in the right direction
I'll bet there's more in her too, a few more outing & better air, it'll be great...

Sounds like you had a good/fun day...
Thanks for sharing your time-slips, details & experiences...
That's what racing is all about, the #'s !!!
