As I'm figuring out what I need for my stealth 360/408 on the '73 SSP, realized I need a 4 BBL air cleaner for a SB. My research shows that Ma Mopar used a bunch of different single snorkel air cleaners for SBs form '71 on, and was different between body styles (trap door, non-trap door, orange, black, 340 vs 360, snorkel length, etc).

If you own a survivor B-body from '71-74 that's a 360-340 4BBL engine, can you pls upload a pic of the air cleaner? Appreciated.

Why does it matter what you have if its not original to the car? Or are you saying you want your stroker to appear stock under the hood?

Anyway, here is my 73 340, its non-flap air cleaner

Here is my buddies survivor 73 340, and it has the air cleaner with the flap on the bottom, it was an early build for 73 and you can only tell when looking at the passenger side you see the vacuum actuator.

Even though I sent info to nick at nicks garage, he never updated his site. Also note, his does not have the engine callout on the air cleaner.

Thanks, idrive. Yeah, I want it to look stock under the hood. I will not put an engine callout on the lid.
I've always wondered if the trap door makes any noticeable difference under WOT.

That's a good question, and I don't know, I am actually running a taller than normal air filter, so there is about a 1/2 inch gap around the lid and body on mine so I at least know I am getting more air.

Up to a point, yes there is a difference you can notice. Ready to do some math?
Area of the snorkel opening, area of the trap door opening, carb cfm, engine consumes how many cfm?
