Proper Orientation for 1971 B body Door Jamb VIN Decal?

What is the proper orientation for the door jamb VIN decal for a 1971 Charger? I have seen them both vertical and horizontal in the door jamb. If it makes any difference, mine was from St. Louis.

No pic on hand this minute but, my early 71 has it placed vertically. Also a St Louis car
