Serial Numbers Question

1.) Does anybody know if the last 6 digits on the 1969 Serial #'s were sequential to the Cars, as in;
123456 followed by 123457, then 123458, 123459, etc., etc. ?

2.) and if the above is yes ? Then did they restart again from "0" the following model year in 1970 ?
000001, 000002, 000003 etc. ?

I am curious, because it appears somebody else's "1970" B-Body sequential number, is only 2 digits off from my #'s matching untouched 1969 B-Body sequential number ? And I know mine was built Nov/1968 nowhere near 1970 model run.

If you guessed I am a resto/numbers 'tard you would be right !

The numbers are sequential, but I think the model year might have been reset at the start to 100001 and counted up. I have real ALL cars produced, but the question is whether it is All cars produced in a model year or at the plant in total. I had thought in a single year, but I will be interested to see if this is correct.
