I also have a B Body, but was hoping that this was general enough to cross over. I went to swap out a starter relay and as soon as I touched the nut on the main stud, a piece of cardboard with a slot in it dropped to the ground broken. It looks like it was meant to separate some items from contacting each other. Does anyone know which wires this cardboard was supposed to separate?

If there was something there, it would have been between these two terminals. (Red arrow) If you're replacing with a new one don't worry about anything between here, just don't let those two touch one another.

No problem. They are the two terminals that you can bypass the ignition. Touch them both together with a jumper wire and the starter will engage.

Hope your replacement part is of good quality. I bought one from merles that only lasted 5 starts.
Ended up disassembling the old one and solder flowing the rivets.

What I am using is one from the local parts store, I do not remember the brand, but I will keep what you have shared in mind if I do have a failure.

I have already bought and installed the part, I will keep bosch in mind if I have any issues with the one I installed.

Or you can just do the lazy-*** method with a screwdriver (like lazy-*** me does)
