I have in my parts pile from three 1968 Dodge chargers, two types of transmission crossmembers, but i dont know which one is correct for my RT auto? Can anyone enlighten me on this? Check the pics of what i have. trannymermber.jpgtrans.jpg

top rusty one. auto version.

lower one looks like a pre 66 B , one with portion cut off.

Ok i went and had a look under my 70 challenger and it has the same crossmember as the one in the bottom pic, so why is it when i look up parts at AdvanceAuto or Rockauto they show me a pic of a transmission rubber that fits that style with the bolt through the side but is listed as for my 68 charger RT?

Does anyone have a picture of what the rubber mount looks like that attaches between the crossmember and the gearbox?

I was just under mine last night. 67net auto. pic on top. i was jacking up on the crossmember to get it twisted back around. I only had the two outer bolts in the crossover. The two inner ones must have fallen out. Yikes! Only had one nut on the drivers side barely on the threads. The passenger side nut was MIA . Lucky I saw that now.

Yup I have had this happen to me once before, I think a little thread lock is in order on those bolts to be safe. Thanks for the determination on the crossmember.

Yes as I stated i have looked through the list at rockauto and they supply a eubber mount that fits the bottom crossmember, the bolt goes through the side. I am wondering if the rubber mount that fits in the crosssmember looks like the Abody unit?

That's weird both Rockauto and Autozone show pis of the earlier biscuit style mount. Here is the later spool mount.

Ok yes spool type is what i meant, i have my RT charger listed 68 model auto when I go to rockauto and thats what they show me, so i will try an earlier car and see if they show me the right part.
