So this is the time of year when lots of us guys have hibernated into the garage and get to working on their off-season list. My list had a number of items, one being engine refresh, which is the last one on my list. Originally built in 2015, it was time for my 505. Coming apart everything...
Well gang, it’s time to go have some fun racing again this weekend and then that’s another season in the books for this cat. Weather looks to be good all weekend to boot. This winter will be engine freshen up time and I’m looking forward to that. I’m also installing a shorter 3” scoop on a...
Pretty quiet in the Racers Hangout as of late.
It looks like it’s time to do an audit on the gang to see who’s doing what to their Mopars this off season. So this is what’s been going on over at my joint.
I’ve been noticing the last couple race days that my brake pedal seemed lower than...
Figured that I would share something that I’ve been working on for some time on the Hemi with the group. When I built the hemi it initially had a Barton single plane intake and dominator 1250. Worked great and laid down nice numbers. Then along came a Mopar Performance Cross Ram that I...
Had a great time at the track last weekend. No wins but a nice time slip.
This season I’ve been working on me and it’s showing up on the reaction times.
A second round shot on the 20th and last one of the day unfortunately, due to yours truly. I dialled back due to bad air, ended up...
Made it out for the first weekend this year at my local track. Couldn’t help but notice a cool line up of Mopars and got my Buddy to quick grab the picture.
Check this out.
Guys, does anyone here know what the thread size is for the screw-in freeze plugs? A couple of pictures for reference. My block came less the plug kit so I'm on the hunt. I think they're probably 1-5/16" UNF-12 O-ring thread? My block is at the shop so not accessible to measure but I'm...
Got the Plymouth ready to go but found out that the local track most likely won't be opening this year at all now.. What a bummer that is. Anyone going to be racing this year? Possibly?
just wondering what all the guys are up to over the winter... post them up.
For me, I got this old Dart to keep me busy till the track opens in a few more months. Yeah I know it's an A body but I do bleed B-body..
Got the bottom ready to epoxy prime. Mini Tubs, Springs relocated, frame...
Wondering what you guys are running for pinion angle with Cal Tracs. What works best?
Also wondering what method you use to determine pinion angle. It seems that some calculate by using trans, driveshaft and pinion angles, others use trans and pinion angle.
Guys: Looking for advise on where to drill to vent the case on the rear of a 727 Torqueflite. What type of vent is best, hole size, 1/8 or 1/4 pipe thread? Ebay sells the small plastic vents and any experience and advise on those would be good too.
I've added a few pictures of where I'm at...
Guys. Going to change the trans fluid and I'm looking for recommendations on what's best to use please. For the 727, bracket racing, with a trans brake. What works, what's best.
I'm installing a Denso mini alternator and have a question.
Can I jump the sensing terminal on the alternator to the main power post or does it have to be switched power. The instructions that I found on line says to connect to switched power but on other alternators I've always jumped it...
Have been working on taking weight out of my Plymouth during the off season. Part of the weight reduction includes switching to fibreglass bumpers. The rear bumper was ordered from AAR and it showed up last week. A VERY NICE piece that took very little to finish and install. Extremely...
Today I was doing some basic maintenance on my 64. Checked the valve lash, made some jetting changes, and checked my timing using my adjustable timing light. With the dial set at 36 degrees, TDC on the balancer lined up perfectly with TDC on the timing cover mark. (36 is what this engine...
New ET Drags are on and heading up to make some more passes in the 64. Half a dozen passes are under the belt now and best to date is 10.7 @ 125MPH / 1.53 60'. Stay tuned!
Sure wish I would have put a door on the left side of the trailer. With the sedan that door post is a bugger to...
I'm wondering what you guys are doing for upper control arm upgrades. I'm running stock uppers with the offset bushings in mine, but I'm concerned about them not moving freely enough to allow optimum weight transfer. What's working for you guys. And is there anyone running the QA-1 52305...
Well it looks like the old Plymouth is finally ready to start making some passes and just waiting for the track to open. The finishing touches today included new jetting and metering rods on the 750 eddies, a full set of double acting QA-1 shocks and a wheel change up to sum up the vintage...
Booked for the dyno with the 505 and wondering what fuel other members have found that works best with 12.76 CR. Ive heard that Renegade Pro 110+ works well. My dyno guy says that whatever fuel that I use on the dyno should be the fuel that I stick with. Suggestions appreciated.
505RB...
