Unfortunately, its a 383 with limited piston options. All the options are on the costly side.
Maybe you should go a different direction..
What is the ring end gap?
We have a 383 in our 67 valiant. It has a nice substitute for cubic inches..a 200hp kit
We have built a pretty good variety of the big blocks..383,400,440,451,512, 526, 542. If you have the crank and rods all your short is pistons and a balancing. Sounds like a fun project to me! I have NEVER EVER regretted stroking a engine of any brand. They should have had more cubic inches...
Maybe try A&A for your adapter. They have 8 bolt and 6 bolt but the descriptions are vague..probably have to call.

From A&A transmission
Enginetech uses parts from other companies and you don't really know what your getting. For a 318 there are plenty of kits available though to compare.

I think so..but still has the funky angles where they feed two cylinders from one intake port and the air has to turn more then 90 degrees on some cylinders. It's a lot of work to correct that and make it still look stock. I have never tried to flow a intake bolted to a head to see how they...
This is the only ev racing I want to watch at our local track!
The little girl doing the wheelie was frick'n hilarious..there is a proud Dad out there somewhere!
I enjoy reading your stock appearing drag racer posts on fb. The elusive 10's are so close!!!!
I wish we were closer to a F.a.s.t. event. Every event is a long trip. We built a 72 satellite. It could be in the spirit of a road runner if we changed grills, we have two hoods..one w fuctioning air...
We have a 71 383hp out of a charger that also was born with a cast crank. We ran a convertor in it that was off a 400 that had the proper weights. Of course we ground those off because all 383s have steel cranks... :BangHead: according to the magazines we read (before the internet) ....yes, it...
Before you go any farther measure the modified crank you have, rods/mains and counterbalances. If the mains were cut observe what the fillet looks like... for higher hp builds a wider radius prevents cracks. We broke a 451 crank because the fillet was too sharp when they cut it.
A 440 cranks...
That makes more sense then BFG.Lol
Are you walking it out or laying the coals to it at the line?
Back in the day our transbrake 727 did not have low band apply or a good front drum, only a bolt in sprag. Now we have a cope billet front drum, still no low band apply. I think you will be fine.

If your running a street tire, which I thought you had a 255 BFG?..I think your experiencing track prep differences between lanes and weekends. Their is a huge difference in traction from a race oriented around street cars and a track prepped for bracket racing.
Love the picture.. beautiful car !
