    Did It Sell or Not?

I find it up for auction in 2023, but can't find the results. Anyone know what happened to it? (if you notice my profile icon, my current project is a similar vehicle but a 1972 model). Thank you. 1971 Plymouth Road Runner Custom for Sale at Auction - Mecum Auctions

    Rust Remover Recipe

Has anyone tried this mix to clean/de-rust stuff? I'd like to dunk a pair of intake manifolds in some kind of homemade cleaner and see what happens. One liter water, 100 grams citric acid, 40 grams washing soda (sodium carbonate)

    Remember Bosco Chocolate?

Just saw an editor in the credits named "Bosco" in the film I am watching on youtube this morning (Naked Fear) when the memory of using Bosco chocolate syrup in my milk as a kid popped into my mind after all these years.

Dangerous Car Features of the Past

I found this explanation online: After the Ford Pinto was recalled in 1978, the fuel tank was modified with the following changes: Plastic shield: A polyethylene shield was installed across the front of the fuel tank. Fuel filler pipe: The fuel filler pipe and seal were replaced with a...

Mouse Moved In While I Was Away

The '72 Satellite Sebring Plus is parked in a garage (more like a carport-no front doors). I was out of town for a month and when I went to charge the battery, found a nest underhood and the front driver's side turn signal lens covered with a mud nest from some kind of bee species. Imagine how...

    EBay Motors Charge Commission?

I'm confused about EBay Motors. I thought I read online they charge a percentage commission fee but when I went onsite I only found 3 different "packages" that seemed to have just a pretty reasonable flat fee $19, $49, or $79. Anyone use them recently that knows for sure how it works? Thank you.

Introducing "Project Odyssey" a 1972 "Super Satellite"

Update: That soak I gave the connecting rods resulted in no improvement in removing the surface rust. Still not sure what that "light yellow liquid" was, maybe used coolant? (photo #1). So my next alternative was to coat the rods in Naval Jelly and rinse (photo #2).

    Happy birthday Dibbons

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I find my social security check kinda cramped my style this year. Dinner tonight was a cup of noodles and a cup of instant coffee for dessert. Just saying, I'm pretty easy to please.

Introducing "Project Odyssey" a 1972 "Super Satellite"

Update: More parts clean up. I found some pale yellow liquid in an unmarked container I thought was vinegar I use for de-rusting, but it really did not smell like vinegar. Anyway, after degreasing the connecting rods with a soapy solution I dropped the rods into the yellow stuff. Now to see what...

Introducing "Project Odyssey" a 1972 "Super Satellite"

Update: Removed light surface rust from the cylinder bores with ball hone and ATF. Began to do the same to the lifter bores with a brake cylinder hone (pulled it out too soon while spinning and stones flew away-need to purchase a second cylinder hone now). Then I removed surface rust from the...

Putting '73 BBody Overflow Bottle on a '72?

Thanks for the diagram in post #7 (but my gosh, the engineer who made the drawing could have made it a little easier to decipher!).

Putting '73 BBody Overflow Bottle on a '72?

I tried this before and failed (I was trying to bolt it directly to the radiator support). According to some recent photos I found, it is attached to something else, but I can't determine exactly how and where. And with a shroud, power steering, and that battery tray looks near impossible...

    Anyone use/adapt a 318 Exhaust Manifold to a 340?

I have two passenger side exhaust manifolds (casting #3418623s see photo) for the 340 I am putting together and I can't find a driver's side (casting 3418621). I have a pair of 318 exhaust manifolds on the '71 BBody I am working on. Will I be able to use the driver side 318 exhaust manifold on a...

Introducing "Project Odyssey" a 1972 "Super Satellite"

Update: Dropped both cranks off at the local machine shop and asked 'em to turn the 340 crank to .020 undersize to match the bearing set I have (presently it is .010 under). Left the .020 undersize 273 crank just in case they need it for measuring reference.
