These are all great tips. My contribution: learn the search function on this site and use it extensively. I couldn't have restored the Coronet without reading and re-reading other member's posts.
I owned a 2006 C6 for about 4 years. The standard Vette with the 6 spd manual, removable tops. It was a great car and a blast to drive. People may scoff, but the Vette is actually a very practical car. There's a huge amount of room under the hatchback, and I consistently got 28+ mpg on the...
A $1,000 budget doesn't get you very far these days. The pieces you already bolted on along with the 3.55's is a nice improvement. Spend the grand on some nice tires and wheels and enjoy.
Another option to fit your budget is to buy a fiberglass hood and front bumper with lightweight brackets...
Agree. A member for two years and your first post is trashing a well known Mopar vendor. To gain just a shred of legitimacy, OP should go back to the Welcome Wagon forum and introduce yourself and your car, and post up some pics. If you can't do that then the Mods should delete this thread.
The biggest obstacle was that all eight wrist pins were seized to the connecting rods. We removed the two offending pistons first, engine still wouldn't budge. We were down to only two pistons left in the block and the crankshaft still wouldn't turn over. We had to use box and open end...
I hadn't done a full engine teardown since the 1980's. This engine was a B@#ch. My forearms were sore all the next day from wailing on the T-bar. We were not going to call it a day until all 8 pistons were out and we were finally done around 8:00.
The Dart currently has a stock stroke 360...
The amount of progress, and the high quality of the build in such a short time is inspirational. Got me thinking that I got to get my butt in gear on my projects.
I have CAA in the Coronet and the Dart. While I bought the Dart with the system already installed, I installed the CA in the Coronet. I have no experience with VA but I can only say good things about CA. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is customer service. CA customer service has been...
Was scouring the swap meet with @Kern Dog at today's Mopars in the Park show. Came across this archival Mopar parts book. Looked to be in great condition.
Surprise. Turns out it holds four whiskey glasses, each glass representing an era of the continuing evolution of the Mopar brand. Had...
I'm running the PowerMaster 7509 in both cars. They generate 67A at idle, 84A at cruise, 99A top end. And they look like the stock squareback Chrysler alternators. Pricey though.
It's a good point. The issue with running a high output alternator with stock wiring is that you can't let the...
