    Another 2.94 vs 3.55 thread

Why not get a set of 3.23's? It splits the difference between the other two.

    Needing help

The problem is, even if that is true, there's too many junk foreign made fans out there. I stand by my research.

Air compressor died! Any recommendations for a good 60-80 gallon upright around $1000?

Your price point makes it hard to get away from Chinese crap. I have a 60 gal Champion and I love it. I sandblast with it, even though it might be small for that. https://www.tptools.com/Champion-Heavy-Duty-75HP-2-Stage-80-Gal-Air-Compressor,6251.html

How do you remove the axle end play adjuster on an 8 3/4" axle shaft?

You have to be careful not to nick the adjuster. I'd skip the press myself. You need a big chisel. Hit the retaining collar ( innermost part of bearing assembly ) 4X HARD at 90* apart. It should expand and slide off. Cut the bearing cage with side cutters and remove the rollers. Now...

    Needing help

I don't know why folks thing electric fans are an upgrade. The other issue with Mopars is usually flow. Out cars are not designed for thermostats with tiny 1 1/8 openings. The EMP/Stewart thermostats are like the old factory ones, about 1 7/16". Flow is everything...

Our car hobby just got a stay of execution

That's lunacy. Legislation like that is why Blue lost. A subsequent administration would likely modify or eliminate that. Battery tech isn't there yet. The Northeast is due for a really cold winter. When it comes, watch all the EV batteries struggle in the cold.

Our car hobby just got a stay of execution

Got your crystal ball out eh? I don't see anything being banned. The real story is just time and attrition. Kids are less likely to want to spend hours in a garage restoring/fixing a 40-60 yr old car. Those of us born in the 50-60-70's are finding it harder to crawl under the car.

Who is going to Hershey next week?

The big AACA Fall Meet. Every car guy should see it, because it's everything, from Curved Dash Olds up through the 70's cars and more. It's the encyclopedia of car shows/swap meets. I've seen things there that I have never seen anywhere else. It's BIG. Wear comfortable shoes. Some...

Does anyone remember what the reliability of the big and small block mopar engines were when they first came out?

All the Mopars I’ve owned have been reliable. That all get regular maintenance too. 318, 340’s and 383’s. I had a 79 W150 with a swapped in 440 that was my daily in the early 90’s, no issues ever.

    Brazing and soldering aluminum

The good chlorinated carb cleaner you can't get in CA will clean the inside of the line of oil. But aluminum can be porous, and if it absorbed oil, it can come out when heated and ruin the brazed joint, never sealing. Easier to have another line made. Purge the line with nitrogen while you...
