Well, it wasn’t intended as a way to promote my services. I just wanted to demonstrate how the mechanism works in case someone wants to repair their own. Additionally, I would provide the technical drawing so that custom rivets could be made.
I took a chisel, sharpened it on a grinding belt, held it against the rivet, and struck it with a hammer. I hit each notch twice, and everything was secure. Of course, you also need to fix the part in place.
I created a technical drawing of the original rivets, capturing as many of the original measurements as possible. I then gave the drawing to a friend, who machined them on a lathe for me.

Yes. That is not your fault. If the plated layer of metal has no adhesion, the preparation and/or degreasing was not successful. That could happen with any metal you plate. In chrome, it also could be that it became passive while plating and did not get any adhesion. You also always see that...
