Ive built hundreds of engines over the last 50 years and its COMMON knowledge that you NEVER use dual springs for the break in period.Only a single lighter spring untill its broken in then you reinstall the dual spring.YES its alot of EXTRA work but now that engine has to be totally gone thru...
Time your engine to 36 degrees total with the vaccumn advance HOOKED UP---not disconnected..cam is very mild--idle speed at 850 in park or nuetral--630 in gear for automatic --manual can be idled down to 750 if it likes it
what exactly are you trying to find out? I have a complete 1963 Max Wedge by Darrell--maybe I can get you the info you want. I own a matching # 1963 Plymouth Sport Fury 2drht as well as the 63 wagon and a 63 convertible modern 426 Max --love to help
unless you race this car--seriously race it--headers are a poor choise for a street car--get a set of late 60s performance manifolds and put a 2-1/2 inch exhaust system on and it will serve you very well for many years--maintenance is easier and youve put your money into manifolds that will last...
Even though it needs alot of work--these wagons make awsome street cars. Heres one I own with a 413 engine--I drove it 4 ten years and beat most every thing I encountered in the street. This is worth bringing back to service. If I was younger Id be buying this.
looks normal to me--add some Zink additive to a fresh oil change--about ten bucks--I add this to ALL the engines I build-its a super wear guard for hardened metal.
Sad to see it so beat up--Its doable but it will take alot of work and money. Heres one done--and had no issues to start with--426 hemi --36% overdrive 5-speed stick-I love these cars--Potential is hidden by abuse .
actually that would be a full time job as I have a large stash of mopar parts--I do post pieces from time to time--but I really enjoy working on the older mopars much more than sitting at this computor.Im not a buisness --just a man that loves late 50s to early 70s mopars.
Turns out I sold it a few weeks ago along with the housing--all thats left are in the transmissions with housings and Id rather not break up a unit --It should be easy to make one --a bolt (grade 5 0r 8) with a smooth shank and threads to draw it in--if you cant do that and cant find a...
I have two of my 7 mopars that have TKO-600 5-speed transmissions with the 36% over drive that are bolted to a 426 aluminum head very healthy Max Wedge in a 63 Sport Fury convertible and a 432 cu in 426 Hemi in a 66 Coronet 500 convertible and currently run P-255-70R-15 tires on the rear and...
