There are two flashers - one flasher controls the turn signals and it is ahead of the switch so that regardless of which direction you turn the ligts are still controlled by that single flasher. On my '69 its a rectangular flasher. I suspect the other flasher is for four-ways. Did you swap them...

What position is your recirc door in ? Just curious if it moves around? Drifting between modes? When you turn on vent is your recirc door open or closed then moving to Max ac you should notice it closing.. just spit balling here.
