With the vehicle at rest and with normal loading, should the rear shock travel be the same in bounce and rebound positions (in other words, in the middle of its total travel)? Thank you.
If the drum is removed (nothing else) will the wheel cylinder expand too much (and maybe come apart) if one steps on the brake pedal with the drum off? After 3 years in storage, I find the left rear wheel is free wheeling when pressing on the brake pedal (this is after completely bleeding the...
The guy is a little wordy, but at least we get a good look at the internal parts and how they go together. He calls the Pump a TRW (Thompson), but it appears to be very, very similar to the Federal in most aspects.
At the very last step (last minute or two), he puts the reservoir back on with...
Is this a "rim blow"? Thank you.

Found two small rubber o-rings (one smaller than the other) in the plastic envelope inside the box of an Autozone Saginaw style power steering pump (together with the shaft pulley woodruff key). Do I need the o-rings? Thank you.
The "remanufactured" AutoZone power steering pump is sold without pulley ('72 Satellite Sebring Plus). I know sometimes one needs a puller to remove the belt pulley. What is the procedure in this case? Thank you.
I am looking for a video to explain front disc bearing adjustment. Still looking ...
I did find this video for drum brakes (1966 model). I can't vouch for the accuracy of the tutorial, use your best judgment.
Working on a '72 SSP. It's been ages since I purchased a rotor (if I even have). Mine have some deep scoring so I don't believe they can be cleaned up.
I can't find rotors locally so will have to have a pair shipped from the USA. I just can't picture if the rotors always come with the wheel...
The local Autozone couldn't/wouldn't special order the power steering pressure hose I need to replace ('72 SSP). Two other independent stores gave me the same story. I could have had it shipped from the USA on my own, but I was trying to find a way to save on shipping/custom fees.
Ended up at a...
I drove the '72 SSP home from the local shop that installed all the new suspension parts still bone dry (not greased yet). No one at the business thought to put grease in the ten or so fittings. The shop I used screwed up a lot of stuff during that episode (as some of you have already found in...
I can get 3/4 to 1 full turn on one side of my factory disc brake equipped '72 Satellite Sebring Plus when giving it a quick spin by hand. On the other side, basically nothing, too much resistance somewhere in there. Thank you.
Some of you have been following the front end rebuild of my 1972 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus in Mexico using PST parts and torsion bars. The problems previously mentioned:
a) placed lift pads under body pinch welds instead of sub-frames (I was there to save the day)
b) installed upper...
I read over and over the same suggestions for Mopars, how to get max caster, then set camber, then toe-in, like is explained below:
"Start with the ride height, then set the front cam all the way out and the rear cam all the way in. Then bring the rear cam out until the camber is in spec. This...
This AM a local shop removed my '72 Satellite front suspension parts for a rebuild. It appears that both strut rods have a very, very slight bend/curve just before one of the threaded ends. I would like to know if they are bent, the shop bent them, or were they manufactured that way? Thank you...
I have all the parts to rebuild the front end, including torsion bars, from PST. My question before we begin, is in regard to removing the torsion bars. I have the instructions from the factory service manual, but does that even apply when we are replacing the upper and lower control arm...
I am doing a little personal pre-alignment inspection ('72 Satellite) before I look for a local shop to check alignment (verify air pressure, put tool box in trunk, remove wheel covers, spray oil penetrant on front end fasteners).
I found the driver's side grease cap just fell on the ground...
