It appears that I am going to need an axle For my Coronet. It's a 65, but has the early tapered axle rear end in it. The threads on the end of the driver's side axle are messed up beyond repair. My machine shop says they are hardened and the although he can build it back up and cut new threads...
As yall know, I have a 65 Coronet. It has the old style 8.75 in it with the tapered axles. Holdover? Swapped in? Doesn't really matter, it's what I have and I am using it. I got the hubs and drums off. No big deal. But what about the axles themselves? It appears that they simply slide into place...
It's been rainin so much here lately, I thought were gonna all float away. I've been chippin away at cleanin up the bottom of the car for some time. Today I was finally able to get it blasted and painted. I will get some pics up tomorrow. I am BEAT.

Can one of you more learned gentlemen please tell me if this is a V8 or Slant 6 K Frame in my car? I know those are V8 mounts. However, I got the fender tag cleaned off and according to it, the engine code is a 20, which is a slant 6. Any help is appreciated.
I have some questions about the early 8 3/4 with axle nuts. I have heard that they can actually be stronger than the more "modern" 8 3/4. Is that right? Are they worth a snot? I figure probably so, since that's what came under early Max Wedge cars. Are parts difficult to find? Should I simply...
