Who here does body work & paint in a one bay shop ? This is all new to me. I am use to having a bay to do body work in & a closed off bay for painting.

That's how I do it. You have to go bat crap ocd to get all the dust out of the room after all the body work. I also wet down the floor if possible just before painting.

I know an old man that use to paint in an old building that was dirty as hell and had dirt floors in it. he was the best around , only painted high end cars. but that was twenty five years ago

Some guys use sheet plastic and wood stripping to make a one and done paint booth. There are plans on the internet for them. Just an option

I bought this cheap carport tent from Harbor freight, worked pretty good. All I did was erect it then duck taped plastic to it.. hell I even duck taped LED shop lights to the inside.

I didn't expect it to work out as well as it did but all I did was open the garage door and the back man door and had a nice breeze sweeping through. I kept the plastic sealed fairly tight on one side with most of the fumes exiting on the opposite side as the breeze was entering. Between the static in the plastic and keeping the floor wet the dirt was very minimal.

Not ideal but I had to get this truck painted way before I'd ever get my other 2 bays done. Once they're done I'll continue to use the carport but will have radiant heat floors and a quality exhaust setup.
