I was given the opportunity to visit & video this rare beautiful Packard as the gentleman was trying to get it ready for an upcoming show. Hope you enjoy this video fellas

Well, that was a let down. Six volt systems suck! You need to have the tune up set perfectly and everything like new with the fuel and ignition.

What a classic car though. I knew an elderly gentleman when I was young who had a car similar to that car. Also had a straight eight. That car was so long, solid steel wheels like that one, long hood and front fenders and it was a roadster, two doors and just the one seat. It might have had the rumble seat. Back then he was offered lots of money for it but he wouldn't sell it. It was completely restored. I often wonder what happened to it.

My 48 Desoto had a 6V positive ground system! I rewired the entire car to 12V negative ground.

Yea when I got the invite to come video it I told him I would be there the next day around noon. They were working on it & thought they had it ready for a test drive. Wasn’t expecting to see it running.
