1962, 383 cu. in 343 Hp Info

I have been searching for any info i can find on the 383 Cu.in 343 Hp Pkg. I understand it was a race package available for stock class in late 1962 that was dealer installed(300 heads, dual carbs & intake, spec. solid lfter cam & valvetrain & exhaust manifolds). Does anyone have any information on this Package? I would like to find out Pkg. part number, pricing, dealer documentation or any particulars. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It wasn't rare at all. It was simply limited to the bigger cars, but over the counter otherwise. Here's a good read that includes info on it.

Thanks guys, i have all this info plus engine specs and 62 NHRA specs on this engine. I am still looking for Part # of over the counter package, pricing and any possible dealer info.

Resurrecting this old post. Finally getting close to finishing my '62. I'm running the 343hp combo with a manual trans and 4:10 rear. Can't wait to see how she drives.
