Question in regards to the seat mount bolts; should there be a large washer or reinforcement plate on the underside of the car where the seat bolt goes through? My car has just the nut against the floor pan with about 1/2" of bolt sticking out past the nut. When I sit in my car the floor "oil cans" every time.
Also, it looks like there is a spacer between the seat slider and floor that is maybe 1/2" in thickness in the front however the back has a bunch of washers stacked together. What should be there?

thanks, Bob

Originally it only had the nut with a captive washer,There weren't any spacers between the bracket and floor! The oilcan is probably caused by the spacers, that and your floor is getting weak! It might quit when the seat is mounted correctly.Hope this helps you!

I feel like I'm sitting on the floor now, if I remove the spacers I won't be able to see over the steering wheel:grin:.

I'm guessing the springs are so week in the seat that my butt is sagging too much.

I forgot to put in the reply from earlier! There are four brackets attatched to the rocker panels, the seat actually is bolted thru them.If your seat is bolted thru the floorpan!it's possibly the wrong seat for your car.Post a pic of it to confirm! I have a seat for a 65 Belvd.four door! Its in good cond.but needs to be recovered! If you need one!

You are right something is wrong, it is not bolted through the brackets. After checking my parts and service manual it appears that my seat track is wrong. It should be a two piece assembly that allows adjustment, mine is just one piece.
Thanks for your help .
