Here we go again. I'm building a 1966 belvedere. Originally it had power steering and I didn't care for it. I had a 1967 satellite big block manual steering car so I pulled the steering ox and column out of it. I tried installing the set up in my 66 and it didn't seem to go together. Is there a difference in the steering column length between 66 & 67?

67 column will not bolt into a 66 car. It will also not fit into the dash opening under the instrument cluster

I have a few '66 columns if you need one. The turn signal switch, column tube, shifter, etc. are different from the '67.

Yes 67 column was first year for collapsing column!

thank you for that information

oh it fit in underneath the dash opening and the bracket went right up against it but I had to put some hard rubber spacers in so that the bracket did not crush the wiring. my big problem was that the length of it was about an inch and a half short.but i solve that issue by welding to steering box couplers together right where the steering shaft slide into it. Not the best answer but it was kind of working.
