1966 dodge coronet 440 worth?

Can anyone give me a ballpark idea what 66 coronet 440, with 383 4speed is worth if all sheet metal and frames are good, interior in good condition, but needs paint?

Is it a "real" G code 383 car?

Is it a real 4 speed car?

440 model 383 cars are rare.

440 model 383 4 speed cars are even more rare.

However, it's an underappreciated market.

VIN will tell original engine size.

(unless it's been swapped.)

Should be WH23G, like mine below.

Fender tag will confirm a 383 under the letters.

This is a good fender tag decode source, but some is Charger specific.

(you won't find bench seats for a Coronet 440 listed)

"62" under "AB" is 383-4

Note no 383-2 engines in 1966 B body cars.

Also note the 1966 FSM has an error in the engine size VIN letters.

"G" is the correct VIN code.

To summarize-

WH23G6 should be the first 6 VIN characters.

...and there should be 62 under the capital AB letters on the tag.

There is no matching VIN number on the 1966 fender tag.

There is an SO number.

The only way to tie the VIN to the SO is the build sheet or the IBM card.

However, if the VIN and tag both call for a 383, and the rest of the options called for on the tag are on the car....

Probably legit.

Also note- no VIN on the engine block.

That didn't start until half way though 1968.

Another note-

Some folks confuse a 361 with a 383.

If there are "V-8" emblems on the fenders, it might be a 361 car.

A 383 car would get "383 Four Barrel" emblems.

That Charger tag decoder will also show the AB codes for a 361.

It's a 66 383 Coronet 440 VIN.

Odd that it's paper.

I'd make sure the VIN tag is on the front door jamb, and take that 66 tag decoder with you to verify the options.

Still interested in VIN and pics of the first car and more pics of the second.
