1966 dodge coronet 440 worth?

It's a 66 383 Coronet 440 VIN.

Odd that it's paper.

I'd make sure the VIN tag is on the front door jamb, and take that 66 tag decoder with you to verify the options.

Still interested in VIN and pics of the first car and more pics of the second.

Interesting you found two of the 1679 66 383 Coronet 440's built within a week!
(and for sale, even)

It took me almost 4 years to find mine!
Here we go......FINALLY the seller back in town, and sent me this VIN number: Wh23g61129869
Hopefully it'll tell us something?

Yep, WH, Coronet 440, 23 2 door HT G, 383-4 6, 1966, 1 assembly plant Hamtramck IIRC.

Still can't believe you found two of them in less than a week!

Looks like it's been dechromed.

Should have body length trim right in the middle.

I LOVE that trim. Makes it look lower and longer.

Also missing the Coronet, 440, and 383 emblems.

383 are available repro. Coronet and 440 are easy to find used and cheap.

Good luck with purchase.

You might want to look right above the driver's rear wheel. Looks a little soft there or it may be poor lighting/camera.

There have been a couple threads on what to look for body wise on these.

Basically-

Above and around the rear wheels (all of those compound lines on the rear quarters almost never get repaired correctly)

Around that chrome trim where the roof meets the body. (another kind of bitch to repair)

Rear lower quarter and trunk drop off (lower rear quarter patch available but can be hard to find, full quarters unobtanium)

Front frame rails between shock tower and trans member (not too common but common enough to check thoroughly)

Trans crossmember (same as above)

Rear frame in the shackle area (not too common)

Inside trunk on the underside of the dutchman panel area (again, not too common but worth checking)

66 and 67 seem to either not rust hardly at all or rust real bad. Not a lot of in between.

...and again, I'd love to add the tag info to my collection.

I have no other pics at this time, fighting a blizzard, so the 2 hr trek to see it not in the cards right now. I'm still waiting for a pic of the fender tag, if in fact there is one.....communication is not great. Did that VIN number prove its factory 4 speed? And if so, why is that rare? My own opinion it may have been a drag car in previous life, but just a guess from the stickers all over it....I'm trying to get another question answered from seller: it "appears" the rear glass molding is missing? Can you guys tell?

Also, if not rusted under, and not full of bondo, what would you pay for this? It is a running, driving car....

Front window trim is missing as well.
I'm skeptical

Ok, I was thinking from these poor pics, maybe both front and rear glass moldings are painted black......still waiting for that answer

Windshield trim is not too terribly hard to find or expensive.

Just be aware that 4 door/ sedan/ wagon trim is different, although you might be able to trim it down.

No, the VIN doesn't tell the transmission.

Fender tag would.

Usually, there were not as many four speed cars made in a given model.

The exception is super high performance where there tends to be a more even distribution- like six pack cars or big block A body cars.

That being said.....what do you figure its worth, just as is right now?

A better question would be: "Is it worth looking at?"

Hard to put a value on without knowing what it needs.

Neither car has come to fruition.......I just want to thank all who have responded to my questions. Much appreciated....
Merry Christmas to all, stay safe.

Good luck.

I have one more anecdote about 383 440 cars-

When I first started looking for my present project car, I found what is close to the grail of these cars-

A 383 AC PW car. The only other thing that could have made it better would have been a 4 speed.

Unfortunately it was in one of the Dakotas and the seller wanted $5200 for a non running project car (in 2005), although I'm 100% certain they had no idea how rare it was, they were just WAY over priced (and about 2500 miles too far away).

Ok, cant let this go (just yet)....just received 3 videos ofcsbove coronet, appreciate opinions, advice, thoughts about buying...
