Can anybody let me know before the door panels go on is there anything material such as plastic that goes on before the panel. If so what material did you use and and how did you adhere it to the door before you snapped the panel into place.

When I got the car it did not have door panels so I am just trying to figure it out and put it back together the right way.

Thanks,

Guys

IIRC when i popped my door panel off a few years back, it had a visqueen-type material behind it. it's a thick clear plastic usu used for vapor barrier. akin to a drop cloth but thicker mil

That is what I thought. I guess it is adheard with some kind of rope caulk or something.

the original glue looked alot like weather stirp adhesive.anything that holds it in place will work.the panel will hold it once installed.

I believe the adhesive strip is called dum-dum in the auto-body repair world. I know you can get it through NAPA. That's where I got mine.
