Got the 470 broke in, temp never got above 213, and oil pressure was 60 @ 2300 and 40 @ 1900. Varied the rpm's while breaking in the cam. Ran it 25 minutes, break in oil and Comp's breaking additive was used.

So is it ok to now install the 2nd valve spring?
 
Wait, so if I'm understanding this correctly... using comps double valve spring set up you don't install the 2nd spring until after the break in?
 
Yes. Just the outside spring and dampner. After break in, then install the inner spring. This is for a flat tappet cam.
 
I like to leave it out for a little longer. But technically yes, you can add them now.
 
Then you don't have to do anything.
