Give Lunati cam a try but buy the "combo" to ensure you get cam and lifters that are ground to run together. Have a medium performance cam by Lunati in my 383 running hydralics and roller rockers and the performance is excellent. Just keep in mind that 383's can wind like a small block and still put out power like a big block - it's the best of both worlds.

Is the .509 lift and 292 duration good or should I look into something a little milder

One would need more information to answer that. It's all a package deal. Get one part of the package wrong and you could be working on corrections for a long time. But basically things to consider are vehicle weight, intended use, transmission type, rear gears, tire size and torque convertor.
Every part you pick needs to work in the same rpm range.
