Lets hear about those 383 strokers out there. HP, compression, heads. intake, CI. ect. What combo do you have ?

I put a 438 kit from 440 source together for my brothers '70 Road Runner. The kit was fairly straight fwd with the exception of the con rod wrist pins( they were tight). Luckily I had a 1" ball hone and was able to dial in the pin bushings to a nice fit. The guy at 440 source, that sold my brother the kit warned him in advance of this issue. It seems like they would hone them before they sent it out.
The kit was assembled in the original '70 383 block drilled for 1/2" oil pick up, around 9.5-1 compression, using a weiand intake, speed demon 750cfm carb, purple 6 pack cam, lunati timing chain, 906 heads with hardened seats, stock HP exhaus manifolds, and all of the original tin installed in front of a 727 with a stock (wide ring gear) converter. It runs really well and we have continually made improvements on tuning it.
My brother didn't want to break any land speed records. He wanted a fun to drive on the street car. That's the reason he chose the 6 pack cam. If it were my choice I would have gone with the .474 lift purple cam, which may have required headers!

My 449 ci is a .030 over 383 with an Eagle 3.9 in stroke crank, Eagle H beam rods, J&E forged pistons, Edelbrock heads. Compression figures out to 9.9 to 1. Comp xe274 cam, Edelbrock perfomer rpm manifold, Edelbrock 800 carb. Backed up with a Tremec TKO 600 and 3:55 8 3/4. Pulls like Jack the Bear from idle on up with 91 octane, pretty happy with it. And it all fits under the hood of my 65 Belvedere.

Thank you Mr. Tot, that's quite a compliment coming from you as your 2 Dodges are as nice as I've ever seen. Haven't seen you in a while, hope your doing well.

383 into 496", Stealth ported heads, Muscle Motors B rod combo, Comp custom solid flat tappet, RPM intake, TTI headers. Dynos (chassis) around 580hp, 600tq, 10.4:1 static, tight quench, runs pump 91, pulls past 6K. Built two years ago, IIRC it has about 19K miles on it, runs 117 in the quarter in a 3900lbs E body. He drives it like a rental. It's stock block, stock caps with main studs, stock oil pickup, minor oil passage mods, std volume pump. Bigger heads and camshaft in the works for next year.

432" with 3.75 stroke (older Indy built engine). Indy SRs, Indy flat tappet, B length rods. Personally would avoid this combo and anything built or assembled by Indy. Better packages are available now. Made 430hp, 460 tq in the chassis but was short lived and had al kinds of issues.
