Hi after some four or more valve per cylinder heads for a 440 anyone know if anyone makes these?
Thank you

I've never seen an RB head set up for 4 valves??? Is this even possible with a single cam?

Chrysler had built a prototype Hemi that was to be unleashed in Nascar that had belt driven cams/4 valves per cylinder in the heads-during testing they ran it at 10,000 rpms, consensus was it could do that all day long. Wouldn't think that 440 heads could accommodate a setup like that. No that doesn't exist.

None exist that I know of but that sure would be something. Put that together with a flat plane crank and you're talking some real high RPM action.

Five valves per

Yamaha made a FZR 1000 motorcycle engine that had five valves per cylinder, and it made lots of power for being only 1000cc but no one made a production motor with this set-up because of the cost and tooling. The reason four small valves are better than two big ones is that the weight of the parts take less effort to "move" when operating at high RPM. Kinda like two turbo's instead of one big mutha!

4 valves have more area than 2 valves, this is why you want 4 valve and not 2 valve...

Has nothing to do with weight making them better or faster...

2 valves side by side will never EVER have the area of a 4 valve head...or the flow...period

Now you have more air flow at FAR less lift than a 2 valve head. . . The advantage of 4 valves is area, by that area you don't need as insane lifts to get the same and even more flow.
The advantages aren't weight even though depending how the valves are actuated it may be more weight, the advantages are better flow by area and better valve spring life by not needing huge lifts

How do you get more air in a cyl without going to 4 valves you move the valve angles to run larger valves, this is why you see canted, twisted, and hemis
cheaper than doing 4 valve, but not as efficient or nearly as much hp as a 4 valve
.

there was a company that was doing 4 valve heads for a bbc and sb gm, im sure if you have the money they could do it for you

If i wanted my car to have a irritating high pitch wine i would go to the pub and buy one a drink. Anyone know if its possible to get blank heads (aluminum or cast iron) If i can get a pair i might have a go at making them. I'm not after overhead cam, so a little bit of manufacturing would be order, but i think it could be worth it.

aussie mate, good luck mesopic might be selling australia mopar parts to the yanks

Awesome.. Wish someone could mimic that engine.
