Where can I find new replacement rods, stock length, stock pin size for a 440 build. I have plenty of used rods but I have not found anywhere that sells a new set. I heard yhe ones 440 source have listed are no longer available.

Call them as they still have stock rod sets on their website. You could also try Summit or Mancini.

Im waiti g on a call back from 440 source. The only thing i see from the others are h beam rods which require different pins.

there are 1.094 pin h-beam rods. side clearance may be an issue and some are heavier than stock. I have a set of the 440 source I-beam rods. they're a little heavier than an LY but have 7/16" bolts. there's nothing wrong with rebuilding used stock rods.

I was going to say - whatever you find unless they are NOS from years ago, will probably be much worse than the used factory. Mopars don't have rod problems. Get a used one and have it redone and you'll be fine.

I finally got a call back from 440 source and the have the new rods for 249.95. I placed a order. I agree the stock rods are good and I have a few sets. Problem with mixing and matching I have found is there is a wide range of weights from the factory. By the time you find some that are close enough to balance and have them shot peened, magnfluxed and sized you will have the same amount of $$ you could spend on a new set.

Plan to have new fasteners put in and resized. The ones they come with are garbage. I used the same set in my six pack motor. I should have just stroked it to begin with. Hindsight.

Thanks for the tip and pic. Ill have those replaced with ARP. Funny they mention how superior their rod bolts are in the listing on the site. Is that a chevelle in your garage?

Sorry for the chevelle it was pulled in just to charge the battery. Hideous thing.

I know they rant and rave about the rod bolts I'll find my old post with a picture of my machinist holding one

I also had to have them resized.

In 440source defense they offered to take them back

I was going to say - Source rods...ALL Source rods are a mess. Because they are final machined with the wrong lube on the threads of the bolts. Cycle the rods a few times with the supplied ARP lube and the big ends go out of shape. I always include a redo of the rods and honing the pin bores when I qoute Source rods.
