I've never install a windshield. Summit has clear or tinted and sell the gasket also. How hard is this to do ?? 1962 Plymouth Fury. Tinted or clear,.. what would you buy ??

My dad and I replaced a windshield on my first resto, not a mopar until my next resto. This is after most of all the work was done, ahh just a little nick on the edge with a tool I shouldn’t have had in my hand in the first place, and the new windshield was trashed. Had to buy another. Educate your helper, as you will need one. Read up on windshield installation + sequential steps, if you haven’t. In my FSM for my ’63, there are detailed instructions on removal and installation under Body and Sheet Metal section I followed and again make sure your helper knows the same. Likely some decent vid's on this today that weren't around when I did this.

Not hard but a little tricky to learn on your own. I've done them in 10 minutes. I've had them take an hour.

I bought mine,63 Belvedere thru Summit. Couldn't find anyone local to purchase from.
That made me nervous about shipping thru the mail being damaged .
Cost was ruffly $700 all said and done. It came truck freight. Crate in heavy cardboard and wood.
The driver unloaded in my driveway and stayed while we un-crated and inspected the glass.
This to me was very unexpected. He even took all the crating away.
A helper while installation is a big plus. Also check out several You Tube videos on installation.
This will show how to do the rope/rubber trick.Take your time and all will be fine.

I live about 20 miles from Summit Racing in Ohio, hope I can pick it up there to avoid shipping cost. Did you get the tinted glass ? and did you buy the seal from summit ?

I would buy the tinted windshield, and pay a professional installer to come out and put it in. Make sure he knows how to install gasketed glass, instead of just gluing it in.

Yep tinted with gasket

It is not too bad to do. I have a buddy in the glass business. When he can order me a windshield, deliver it, install it and install the rear window that I already had all for $300.00. I just help him do it by providing the beverages.

There not hard to do, I just did my 62 wagon

1-remove all the outer stainless trim and wipers. Requires using a trim tool and all the inner trim
2-slip a razor knife between the glass and the rubber lock. Cut off the lock /seal completely around the outer glass.
3- Remove the glass by pushing it out from the inside. Sometimes a pain to do the butyl sealer
4-remove seal from window frame
5- Remove old sealant, rust and debris from windshields frame and repair if necessary
6-apply liquid butyl sealer to the pinch weld, apply completely around the window frame and install the new seal on to the pinch weld of the window frame
7-place glass over windshield frame with one hand between the cowl and the bottom of glass pushing up. Use the other hand to guide the top /sides of the glass into the seal channel .work glass onto channel using soapy water, nylon, plastic sticks and wedges to pull up yup the seal over the outer edge of the glass.
8-once glass is completely worked into the channel dry all soapy water between glass and seal
9- Run a bead of liquid butyl between the seal and glass completely around
10-lock the split lock into each other by pressing the inner lock under the outer lock .clean up extra butyl and install trim
