When was the first Pentastar used on the top tank of a Big Block Radiator. I thought all 62's and even some later years used the CPDD logo on the top tank. Does any body know? I am also looking for a picture of the top tank from an original 62 with a Big Block radiator (2099897) or what have you. PM me and i'll give you an email to send to. Thanks!

No Pentastar on my '62 / factory 361ci. Radiator might have been replaced at one time too. Not the same part # as you listed...

here is a 1962 Big block radiator

I have the exact radiator 2099893 in my 62 Belvedere with the factory poly 318. Has an old rebuild tag brazed on the top. Appears original.

The 893 Radiator is from a poly I believe, the top radiator hose should be on passenger side for a Big Block. The 893 radiator is not in the parts book or price book. It probably is a production #, as there is a 894 # listed. The 2524984 of Kryslerkid is a 65 radiator according to parts book. According to 62 book the 361-383 radiator is a # 2099899. Thanks for pictures guys!

Right, the 893 is nowhere in the book. It goes from 892 to 894. my mistake, when I first looked at it, I thought it said 2099898. I then turned on the lights. DuH!

You're welcome for the pictures but it still doesn't answer the question about the Pentastar. You just had to ask and now I'm curious.

It also sucks finding out that I have a '65 radiator! (And for a "C" body I might add) Lol

Don't you just love the history lessons on these cars...

I sympathize, as a very good friend with a 62' 413 thought I might have a radiator for him, which now is not the case!
He may kick my Butt for building up his hopes.LoL

if it means anything; my '65 big block a/c radiator doesn't have a pentastar. it does have cpdd logo.

It is my belief that somewhere around 66 or 67 is when they started using the Pentastar on the top tank. Just curious!

The galen Govier Book shows 2524972 65' 361 426 should have a pentastar. Maybe?

I'm thinking when you introduce a new "logo" you have to change the tooling and dies ect. Then you have to use up all of the old stock too. So that might be the time span for the logo to show up on the part.

The '65 radiator in my pic has the CPDD

Actual pictures would prove it...

I have a 66' chrysler 440 A/C car, with the Pentastar, and all the newer and Factory A/C flat top radiators have the pentastar. I do have a 65' 361-426 PN#2524972 Radiator without the pentastar.

the radiator in my '65 coronet is #2524972 and is original to the car. car build was 12/1964. my '69 r/t has #2949053, original to car, and does have a pentastar.

I hope you guys are happy now.......you made me look at my 63 and it turns out I have a 66 318 radiator #2582942 and no Pentastar.

You are missing the radiator tag on that 62 ,it should be under the ab number on that flat boss ,if the Hoses are in the correct location ,it is probably the correct Radiator ,I think someone was making those tags for the 63 and 64 .I don't know about the 62 tags .
