I just bought a 65 coronet 500 4 speed car and the transmission hump looks right from interior but looking from the bottom up it looks like a hack job. Anyone have a picture of the floor from the bottom ?

The factory did do a hack job when cutting out for the shifter hump on these B bodies. Literally looks like a 5 year old did it. Standard practice on 62-65 B bodies with manual floor shifter.

that is exactly what it looks like ! I had a 65 4 speed car years ago but never looked at the hump. Thanks !

If you look close you can see the 4 speed section has been cut out by the factory with a torch. This is a one owner original 383/4 speed '64 Polara.

My 66 Dart looked hacked up as well. Torch or air hammer to remove and stick welder to attach it looked like to me. I don't believe they had specific floor pans and transmission humps for stick cars.

I just did my 65 Coronet 440. Verified. Factory 4 speed car.
Yes the floor was FACTORY CUT WITH A TORCH. THATS. THE WAY IT WAS BAVK IN THE DAY. unit was Tagged 4 speed on the line. 1 guy thtew down a templete and turned on the Hot Wrench

I have a 1964 Dodge 440 2 door post with a 426S wedge 365 hp single 4 bbl carb and 4 speed, paint code EE1, that I am restoring over time. When I went underneath to inspect the under carriage, I found the same looking hack job for the transmission tunnel as you did. But I know, having the build sheet, that it is a true factory 4 speed car.
If you check the inner fender tag it will give the transmission code - A3 = 4 Speed A833 manual hurst floorshift. Check it out.
So just relax and enjoy.
