Need help from the experts; rebuilding the front end on the GTX. Strut rod bushings and washers have been replaced fairly recently.

THere is a sleeve and washers with large holes that almost slide over the lip on the strut rod.

If I remember correctly, these B-bodies should not have a sleeve, and the washers should cup towards the bushing.

Any pics of a correct B-body bushing assembly would be great. Does anybody have extra original washers??

Thanks,

Those are aftermarket polygraphites in your picture and they put the washer backwards, so I have learned as recent as yesterday! LOL

Stock washers indeed go cup towards the rubbers and YES there is a sleeve...

Thanks; that is exactly what I thought

The hole in the washer; is it the size of the rod?? or the size of the sleeve??

The washers I have slide over the sleeve, and barely catch on the step in the shaft.

I am thinking the washer should go on first, then the sleeve; is that correct??

If so, where can I get the correct washers??

Thanks!!

Jack

Washer then sleeve is a light press fit on. Put up a WTB advert.... someone is sure to have 4 washers around their shop after going aftermarket..
