Lots of off/on, and a little modification, but 12 hours later it's close enough for the time being. I've got to put headlight buckets in, plus all the hardware.
Got the hardware kit for the grille. I also have new trim pieces for upper and lower grille center. But first I rebroke the lower left tower, the stud goes in. So mixed up some epoxy, put the grille in and lined up the stud. Next week I'll get the brackets on the grille center. And hopefully get the grille in for the last time.
Snuck in a few minutes today on the grille. I had taken the metal brackets off my grille center for blasting and painting. They were originally riveted on, but I was extremely nervous about doing that. So I bought some 4mm by .07 metric Allen button head bolts 6mm long. With flanged nuts & lock nuts. I painted the flange nuts to disguise them a little. I bought the hardware at Ace Hardware.
The one bolt had the backside nut in a pocket so I had to use a locknut. I didn't paint it cause it's pretty hard to see. The button head bolts stay below the surface above the recess.
So I bought the hood used. I got my A12 hoodpin kit from Mega Parts and thought I'd install the front part of it. Right away I was a little disappointed in the kit. The bezels are stamped and not solid pieces. Second the cables are electrical connectors crimped on cable and sprayed or dipped in rubber. For 135$ I'd expect better. Anyway I installed studs, got height set and locked them down. I did have to use the Dremel to open up the bolt holes where the studs went. Then I had to open up the holes on the hood for the studs about 1/2 a hole. I'll do some fiberglass work to make the holes look nice. I need to get dimensions for the location of the rear pins before I work on them.
Just found out hose was used for bumper/stop for hood. I have the stock hood bumpers installed, but I'll put the hose on when I install the hood for the last time. Also found measurements for hood pins in back.
