Starting my headliner install in a 70 Road Runner. I had to order the fasteners that hold the rear window hooks plates to the inner roof structure (Pics attached) but since I took this apart about 18 years ago - I am having a metal block (I mean I've forgotten) exactly how these fasteners hold this hook plate in place. Anyone can give me some direction here on how these work? Please see attached pics - One pic is of when I took the hook plates off - the other pic is of the new fasteners.

I believe you install and twist them,I pulled mine off of my charger. Someone will reply on it. @eldubb440 might know.

THATS how I got the old ones off - but the new ones don't fit the holes ...the small ends are too small for the holes in the roof structure OR the hook plates

You can just line them up with the holes for the old retainers and use self-tapping screws for sheet metal... It really doesn't matter cuz once the headliner is installed you can't see the self-tapping screws anyway. So what's the difference? Just my two cents!
