The auto tranny in my '63 Fury doesnt seem to want to shift into the last gear. Goes from low to second but thats it. Is there something on the linkage I can adjust to comlpete the shifting? This has a floor shift for now until I can swap trannys back to push button. Tranny is a '65 model.

Cable may be melted if it won't go any further. Remove cable end at the shifter. It should move easily through all 6 posistions. If it moves properly it could be out of adjustment. I'm assuming you're using a 66 floor shifter?

I would adjust lingage at transmission if possible or do it manually to see if shifts all gears. I would rise the car and block it with wheels off and try to adjust lingage, start by finding neutral with car running and adjust a little one way till it tries to engage, then adjust the other way till it tries to engage, then adjust half way between! This is how I adjust push button ,but should work for floor shift. Good Luck, and hope this works for you.Others may have better way.

Is your shifter aftermarket? If so, as was said, could be a melted cable. If so, you will need to replace it, and cover the cable with a heat sleeve.
