so i am very new to the whole interior thing and was wondering which of the websites would be best for re doing my dash, with cost in mind. I am converting my 73 charger from tan to black and the dash is destroyed, it is almost completely foam, would i be best applying a cover directly to the foam, or do any of the companies do pads with the foam.

Also wanted to know how to change out the lower dash, or would that have to be painted or dyed, and if so if anyone could recommend a paint that would be so helpful! Thanks all

Just dashes in Van nuys CA. expensive... $500+. Not the friendliest bunch of guys, but they do good work

I got my dash from Carolina dashes some where in ohio.
I also hear bad things about the cheep ones from somewhere around el paso.
Side note imho when bringing a car back any parts that are front and center Dashes, console, upholstry never go cheep. It will show and you and everyone else will see that every time you look at your car. Save money on out of sight things

ive been thinking just dashes, gotta start saving my $$. and what to i do about the lower part? paint?

Only good thing is that the dash pad was used on 2 door, 4 door and wagons for a number of years, so they are 'easy' to come by...not easy to find uncracked.

The lower part you're talking about is the entire dash frame, and is painted metal. The color depends on taste or options if restoring. There should be a few threads in here to point you towards the right color and texture.

Most guys use a low/semi-gloss black for the frame.

Good luck!
