G'day. When my car arrived it had a few bits and pieces missing, and some that were already removed and just thrown in the boot (sorry trunk). I have this plastic duct of some sort, that doesn't have the pentastar on it anywhere, so I'm not even sure it came out of my car. Can anyone tell me what it is, and more importantly did it come out of my car?

I was thinking something like that. The a/c components had all been taken off and were gone. This was the only duct left with the car.
 
im with Rusty on this one, some sort of {rear?} defroster duct?

btw Monroe, i speak languages other than American. i know what a boot, a bonnet, even what a wing is!! lol

Yep, it is definitely part of the heat/ac duct it goes under the dash. just gutted mine cuz i have no heat or air...yeah!
 
Does not look like 68-70 B-body stuff.... If I was to guess I would say later B-body over the glove box duct but not too familiar with those cars.
 
It's an air conditioning duct for a 1970-72 Oldsmobile Cutlass or 442.
Wow. That sounds interesting. Did the part number help you identify it or are you familiar with duct itself. Not really important, just curious that's all. If I know for sure I might be able to help out someone who's restoring one of these. Thanks.

Many cars have a feature known as a demister which is used to deal with condensation on the window glass. Since condensation can impair visibility, drivers want to be able to remove it as quickly as possible. The demister heats the glass, encouraging the condensation to dissipate and clearing the window. These devices are generally not designed to melt away frost, with frost requiring a scraper for successful removal to clear the window unless the frost is very light.

I do have a Cutlass sitting in the barn. But, the part number clinched it.
